What We Do

Our Programs

To meet the needs of our families, we provide a Center-Based Option and a Home-Based Option. No matter which option you choose, we ensure high quality services that support the growth and development of children and families.

Program Options

Our Center-based option means services are provided in a school setting. We have various Early Learning Centers located throughout Sacramento County where we offer part-day or full-day services. This option operates on both a traditional 9-month schedule and a year-round 12-month schedule, with on-site Teachers and Family Services Workers providing primary services.

  • Part-Day Option – offers 3.5 to 4.0 hours per day for 5 days a week (4 days per week at selected locations). Part-Day classes operate morning and afternoon sessions.
  • Extended/Full-Day Option – offers 6.5-9 hours per day for 5 days a week . (4 days per week at selected locations).  This option is designed to meet the needs of families who are working and/or going to school.

Our Home-based option means services are provided in the home for pregnant mothers and families with children ages birth to 5 years old. A Home Visitor makes weekly visits to provide comprehensive services in the family’s home. A socialization gathering, conducted twice a month, allows children and families to mutually interact in a school setting and to learn a variety of skills and topics of interest important to the educational development of the child.

Curriculum

Our goal is to implement a comprehensive curriculum tailored to the needs of our children. The foundation for center-based learning is Creative Curriculum. This is a research-based curriculum that builds children’s confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills through hands-on, project-based investigations. Supplementary classroom approaches include:

  • I am Moving, I am Learning: Nutrition and Movement
  • PAWS: Health and Safety
  • Teaching Pyramid/CSEFEL: Social Emotional Development

The Home-Based program uses Parents as Teachers (PAT) as the foundational curriculum. PAT utilizes research-based and evidence-informed curricula, training, and professional resources to equip home visitors with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to support families parenting young children.
